A massive thank you to all the volunteers

Melanie Hawman, the CEO of The Disability Resource Centre says:

“I would like to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers who have worked tirelessly throughout the last 12 months.

Thank you to the neighbours, the carers, the friends and family who provided support by shopping, collecting prescriptions and performing countless other tasks; to those who used our Facebook feeds to offer help.

We were proud to have been a part of the community keeping vital services open to our disabled community in different and safe ways.

There have been so many generous, thoughtful people who have stepped-up, walked the talk and got on with practical jobs, such as manning the car parks at the vaccination centres or phoning a lonely neighbour; not forgetting those who got to work sewing all those fantastic face masks.

We could not have done it without you, so a huge thank you to each and every one of you.

Join us this week, Volunteers Week 2021, in celebrating the kindness and selflessness of those around us, supporting us when we need it most.

Our charity, The Disability Resource Centre, is actively recruiting for volunteers to support our vital work helping disabled people, their carers and those with long term health conditions.

Please take a few minutes to read about the varied work and roles available to you, whether it be remotely from home or at our centre and offices. We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful band of volunteers. It will be an experience to be proud of and who knows where it will lead…”

Melanie Hawman, CEO, The Disability Resource Centre.
